The big changes to Yanis Online, newest first. Small fixes go out with the game's automatic updates and are not listed here.
18 October 2026: in-game info windows, FPS and ping, protected game files
Comes with game update 20, which installs itself the next time you start the game.
- Monster Info: type
@miand a monster name (@mi raydric). A window shows its stats, the HIT you need to always hit it and the FLEE you need to dodge it, your own hit, dodge and critical chances, which elements hurt it, what it drops at this server's rates and where it lives. - Who Drops:
@whodropsand an item name lists every monster that drops it, highest chance first. - Market:
@wsand an item name lists every open shop selling it, cheapest first, with the seller, map and position;@wblists the buying stores that want it. - Kill Count:
@kcor Alt+K counts your account's kills per monster, with a count you can reset and a lifetime total. - Guild Log:
@gloglists every deposit and withdrawal of your guild storage;@glogand an item name shows just that item. - FPS and ping in the top right corner of the game. Alt+Y opens a small window with the same.
- Fewer crashes in long sessions: the game can now use 4 GB of memory instead of 2.
- Protected game files: Yanis Online's own files (the English text and our artwork) are in an encrypted pack, and files dropped into the game's data folder no longer change the game.
18 October 2026: build calculator, world map and @ping
- Build calculator (Database menu): plan a character with stats, gear, cards, skills and buffs, pick up to five monsters, and see the status window, hit and critical chances, damage ranges and card procs. The numbers are not formulas copied from a guide: the calculator runs the game server's own code on your build.
- World map: towns, fields and dungeon entrances are marked, with the monster levels of each field. Point at a place to see its monsters; pick it to see every way to get there, walking or by Kafra.
- Map pages show where the NPCs, shops, warps and monsters are, and what drops on the map.
- Skill pages show every level's cost, cast time, damage and the area each skill hits.
- The database only shows what exists in Episode 13.2.
- @ping in the game chat shows your connection's round trip to the server.
18 October 2026: drops from MVPs, two skills, and the website database
Drops from MVP monsters
What was wrong: the 10x drop rate applied to every monster except MVPs, whose normal drops stayed at 1x.
What we did: MVPs drop at 10x like everything else.
Skills
- A Whistle gave only a tenth of the Perfect Dodge it should. It now gives the full amount: +1 Perfect Dodge per point, as its description says.
- Wink of Charm worked on Boss monsters. Like on official servers, it no longer does.
The database on this website
New item, monster, skill and map pages with the game's own pictures: item icons, monster sprites and map previews. Drop rates show what monsters drop on this server. Monster pages work again (they failed for every monster before), and now list the skills each monster uses.
18 October 2026: everything in English, and skill descriptions that match the game
Comes with game update 18, which installs itself the next time you start the game.
Skill descriptions
What was wrong: many skill descriptions did not match how the skills actually work here. Some described a later version of the game, some had wrong numbers, and some left out the limits that matter.
What we did: every skill a character can learn, plus homunculus and guild skills, was checked against the server's own skill code. 325 descriptions were rewritten with the real damage, durations, costs and limits. A few examples:
- Asura Strike stops your SP from coming back for 5 minutes, not 10 seconds.
- Warp Portal carries 7 to 10 people depending on its level, needs a Blue Gemstone, and you can have 3 open at once.
- Health Conversion gives back 100% to 500% of the HP you spend as SP, not 10% to 50%.
- Raid, Freezing Spear and Watery Evasion described effects this server does not have.
- Endow skills never destroy your weapon when they fail; they only take it off.
- Guild auras work on every map at all times, not only during sieges.
- Parry, Spear Quicken, Adrenaline Rush, Blitz Beat, the Bard and Dancer songs, the Monk combos and many more now show their real numbers.
Translations
What was wrong: parts of the game were still in Korean.
What we did: translated them all into English:
- The Party Booking window: map list, regions and help.
- The hotkey settings and the help for slash commands.
- The tooltips on buff and debuff icons.
- Everything your pets say: all 45 pets, each with its own personality.
- All 40 books you can read in the game: Alchemist guides, cookbooks, history and stories.
- Over 1,300 game messages: trading, vending, chat rooms, pets, party, effects wearing off and more.
- The quest details window and the last two quests that were still in Korean.
The world map's monster-level view showed Korean labels with monster levels from a different version of the game. It shows the plain world map until a correct one is made.
18 October 2026: the game froze after changing equipment
What was wrong: after you put on or took off any equipment, the game misread everything the server sent next. NPC conversations stopped, portals did nothing and quests could not be finished. Weapons and shields you equipped did not show on your character either.
What we did: fixed the server so it answers in the form the game expects. Equipping works, your gear shows, and the freezes are gone. This also made the homunculus window work.
